Background on the Gospel Reading

After Lent, the Easter season, and three Sundays of feast days—Pentecost, Most Holy Trinity, and Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ—the Church returns to Ordinary Time. This Sunday’s Gospel from Mark carries a significant message regarding faith and the Kingdom of God.

First Reading
Ezekiel 17:22–24
I, the Lord, bring low the high tree and lift high the lowly tree.

Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 92:2–3,13–16
They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Second Reading
2 Corinthians 5:6–10
The lives of all are to be revealed before the tribunal of Christ.

Gospel Reading
Mark 4:26–34
The reign of God is like a mustard seed.

Are You Coming or Going?

Do you ever wonder if you are coming or going? Most of us have the sense sometimes that life is too hurried, harried, and unfocused. We pause at the end of a day or a week and are not sure what just happened, or if any of it mattered. We need a source of peace and purpose to lead us to what is most important and give us greater meaning in life. In the Eucharist, we come and go in a different way.

SMOY Fest 2021

Although the Eucharist appears to be simple bread and wine, it is actually the "source and summit" of the Christian life. Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist explores the truth and beauty of Christ's real presence in the Eucharist, from its origins in Sacred Scripture, to its profound role in the life of the Church and her members. It is the crescendo of the entire story of salvation.

Married couples celebrating a significant wedding anniversary (25, 40, 50, 60, 65, 70, 75) in 2021 are invited to request a congratulatory certificate from Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr. Married couples may request a certificate online before June 11, 2021. These certificates will be sent to our parish in July for distribution to couples at a later date to be determined. Knights of Columbus – June Social Meeting

June 28, 2021, at 7:00pm in Fr. Brooks Hall

Rocky Boiman, a 1988 St. Xavier grad and Notre Dame grad will be speaking at the KC Social event in June. Rocky was a captain at Notre Dame in his senior year and went on to an 8yr career in the NFL. He resides in the Cincinnati area with his wife and 3 sons. Rocky was a Green Township Trustee from 2011 – 2014 and is a member of the board of the Life Learning Center. Please join our current Knights and men of the parish for a fun-filled evening. In addition to the presentation by Rocky the Knights will have food and refreshments for all.

Golden Anniversary Mass 2021

Married Couples celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2021 are invited to attend one of the following Golden Anniversary Masses: 4:30pm on August 7, 2021 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Dayton or 11:00am on August 8, 2021 at Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains, Cincinnati.
